Cyclone Biparjoy makes landfall, wind speed likely to be at 115 to 125 kmph

The breeze speed is probably going to be 115 to 125 kmph blasting to 145 kmph during landfall process as it heads towards Saurashtra, Kutch and bordering Pakistan coasts.

Cyclon Biparjoy has made landfall on Thursday contacting the Saurashtra, Kutch in Gujarat, and abutting Pakistan coasts, India Meteorological Office (IMD) has said. The breeze speed is probably going to be 115 to 125 kmph blasting to 145 kmph during the landfall cycle, it said. As indicated by IMD, weighty precipitation is probably going to go on during the landfall cycle.

The landfall cycle might require a few hours to finish, IMD said.

The meteorological division said the tempest flood because of the twister will probably be 2-3 meters over the galactic tide and is supposed to immerse low-lying areas of Dwarka, Okha, Diu, Naliya, Veraval, Bhuj, Porbandar and Kandla. The galactic tides in a portion of these regions could depend on 3-6 meters in better places, IMD said.

The landfall point is probably going to be among Mandvi and Karachi close to Jakhau port and the landfall cycle is supposed to go on till 12 PM on Thursday. " Landfall process requires a couple of hours to be finished and may go on until late. The district where landfall will occur doesn't have uniform coast, it's more similar to a bay so the landfall cycle will take time. The size of the absolute framework is tremendous, around 300 km in span, center breeze region is 100 km in sweep. It is an exceptionally extreme typhoon and is supposed to keep up with a similar power," said Ananda Das, responsible for twisters at IMD.

"Assuming u see the radar, the northern part of the tornado there not much precipitation is seen.

A large portion of the precipitation will be in the southern eyewall as referenced before. This shows regions on the southern side of the middle will get more downpour in next 6 hrs than regions north of the middle," said Vineet Kumar Singh, analyst, Hurricane Exploration Center, Jeju Public College, South Korea.

"Tornado Biparjoy is currently the longest term twister in the Middle Eastern Ocean history breaking the record of the June 1998 tornado in view of information from the Joint Storm Cautioning Center. Tornado Biparjoy is keeping up with twister strength (winds > 34 bunches) for 192hrs (till Wednesday morning)," Singh had said on Wednesday.
